This publication is for curious beginners, reflective professionals, and human-centered leaders who want to understand AI before rushing to adopt it.

AI Flight Plan helps non-technical leaders and executives build AI foundations for a future that serves humanity, through story-led guides that makes AI feel possible for anyone.

Welcome to a space where curiosity builds comprehension, and comprehension builds literacy. Each post beings with a story and ends with something small you can try. Because breaking down complexity becomes understanding, and understanding becomes confidence.

AI has arrived in what feels like overnight, but AI literacy isn’t keeping pace. People feel pressure to learn tools, follow headlines, and move faster than their confidence allows. Through reflection, narrative, and practical guidance, this publication helps readers understand not only what AI can do, but how it fits into their lives.

AI is not only a technological shift. It is a human moment. The future will be shaped not just by engineers and companies, but by people who understand AI, question it, and intentionally choose how, when and where it becomes part of their everyday world.

This work is about helping people feel capable inside a rapidly changing landscape. It is about making AI feel accessible and usable. Most of all, it is about ensuring understanding grows alongside innovation so that people remain central to the technology shaping their lives.

What happens when you build the foundation first

Every AI decision gets easier.

Not because the tools get simpler, but because you finally know what you’re solving for. You have governance in place, your data is ready, and your team understands the why behind every decision, not just the what. And when the next shiny object arrives, and it will, you have a framework for evaluating it thoughtfully instead of just reacting to it.

That’s the transformation I care about most. Not faster AI adoption but smarter AI adoption, the kind that gives your people a real voice and empowers them to ask better questions. The kind that puts the future of AI back in the hands of the people actually living with it every day, not just the few making decisions about it from a distance.

What You Get Every Week

One issue. Focused, honest, and grounded in something I have actually tested or worked through myself.

Every week is another piece of the foundation. Some weeks that’s a tool I have put through its paces in a real strategic context, with an honest verdict on whether it earns a place in serious work. Some weeks it’s an experiment that didn’t go the way I expected, and those are often the most useful issues I write. Some weeks it’s a framework, the governance thinking, the sequencing, the decision-making structure that makes everything else worth doing.

You can read each issue in ten minutes. You will leave with something you can use that week.

The Backstory and the Book

AI Flight Plan began with the 20-Point AI Adoption Framework©, a practical playbook for the work that happens before AI tools: governance, data, systems, and strategy. It’s the foundational work that determines whether your AI investment pays off or becomes a black hole of subscription fees and unused licenses.

The first 20 posts were written as quick reads with practical steps, each one building on the last. Define the problem you are trying to solve. Establish governance. Clean your data. Set up your systems. Then add AI tools. That sequence matters more than most people realize, and getting it right is the difference between transformation and expensive chaos.

All of it is distilled into the free eBook, Unshakeable AI: How to Turn Chaos into Clarity, Confidence and Trust. A practical guide for leaders navigating AI for the first time, written for humans, not engineers.

What I Believe

AI is built by people and for people, and that when you invest in your people, their understanding, their confidence, their trust, you are investing in the only future that matters.

And I believe that when more people understand their real options and feel empowered to ask better questions, AI stops being something that happens to them and starts being something they shape. That is the future AI Flight Plan is building toward.

Shiny objects fade. Foundations last. People matter.

About Me

I am a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot with 15 years scaling strategy and operations across AWS, Intuit, and Qualcomm. I have led multi-billion dollar portfolios, advised executive teams on transformation, and built governance frameworks that turned AI investment into real, lasting outcomes.

That experience is what AI Flight Plan is built on. Not theory. Not benchmarks. Real operational discipline applied to one of the most important challenges leaders are navigating right now.

I write for executives, nonprofit leaders, and scale-up founders, and for anyone who believes that how we build AI matters just as much as what we build it with.
